As part of its strategy to promote the natural environment and biodiversity of the smaller Pityusic island, the Consell Insular of Formentera planned the creation of a dedicated route to showcase the area’s rich natural heritage and enable the observation of the many bird species that inhabit it.
At Decópolis, we developed a signage project that combined information about local bird species with the creation of a designated route using interpretive panels. The materials chosen for the Birding Route high-quality and weather-resistant include wooden and iron structures with engraved panels. A clear example of how signage can promote responsible tourism and help visitors connect with and understand their surroundings.

The newly developed birdwatching route at Estany Pudent in Formentera enhances the value of the local ecosystem, offering new ways to enjoy the island and its natural environment. Additionally, the signage, which includes information about the area's bird species, serves as an added attraction that helps diversify the visitor profile.
The Consell Insular of Formentera, highly satisfied with the outcome of the birdwatching route, has highlighted the importance of this natural area, home to species such as flamingos, black-winged stilts, and shelducks. Thanks to the new itinerary, the biodiversity of the region and its historical connection to the salt industry are brought back into focus.
