Morna International College: An Ambitious Overhaul of Its Facilities and Play Areas

The Need

Morna International College, one of the most renowned private, bilingual schools in Ibiza decided to renovate several areas with the aim of modernizing its facilities, upgrading materials, and creating new play zones tailored to the different age groups of its students. The renovation also sought to address long-standing water drainage issues.

Our Solution

Decópolis developed a bold renovation proposal aligned with the school's needs. The first and most innovative step was the installation of a parkour area at the school entrance a dynamic space that encourages outdoor physical activity.

The project also replaced outdated materials with safe and functional rubber surfaces: one themed around an “underwater world,” and another bright, colorful zone designed especially for early childhood students.

In the building dedicated to the youngest age group, we installed continuous rubber flooring that integrates seamlessly into a wooded area, with a nature-inspired design.

Benefits

Beyond the most obvious advantages—such as improved functionality, enhanced safety, and the overall upgrade of play areas—the project at Morna International College also resolved the school's water drainage problems. It now allows for proper water flow during rain, thanks to improved slopes and the addition of stormwater retention zones

Results

Feedback on the project has been overwhelmingly positive, both from school leadership and staff, as well as from students and parents, all of whom have seen a significant improvement in the school's facilities. Additionally, the solutions implemented for proper stormwater drainage have eliminated flooding issues and led to lower overall maintenance costs
